Monday Wishlist - Feeling All Nautical!

Hey lovely people!

Happy Monday to you all. I have had a busy morning cleaning up what can only be described as a nuclear blast that specifically hit my kitchen over the weekend. Why is it that when I cook dinners, the kitchen is left at least relatively clean and organised, but when my husband so much as makes a slice of toast, it's left looking like a bulldozer has just crashed through the walls!!! It's honestly unbelievable... and baffles me no end.

Anyway, went off on a tangent there. Today's post is another of my wishlists. I've been trying to figure out what to wear to an up and coming family event, and this particular mood-board is my latest inspiration.

  1.  Navy Maxi Dress - Your's Clothing - £38
  2. Espadrille Wedge Shoes - Simply Be - £35
  3. White Structured Tote Bag - Your's Clothing - £16
  4. Michael Kors Sunglasses - Simply Be - £87
  5. Marc Jacobs Daisy - Simply Be - £74
  6. Droplet Earrings - Your's Clothing - £5
  7. Charm Stretch Bracelet - Simply Be - £11
  8. Long Red Bubble Necklace - Simply Be - £15
  9. Ciate Nail Polish - ASOS - £7
I'm really loving this combination of colours at the moment, and the dress in particular because it is a navy blue as opposed to a lighter shade, will still cover all the lumps and bumps and flatter my fuller figure.

So what do you think? Are you enjoying this particular trend at the moment like me? Do you think I would be better trying something a bit different... i.e. pastels or more neutral tones? Let me know your opinions.

Take care lovelies. x

Monday Wish List - True Blue Inspiration - Part 2

Hey lovely people!

Well I just couldn't resist adding another few items to my Wish List and I thought that because there were still blue pieces included, that I would just share them with you and include them as part of today's post.

So this is another Yours Clothing selection, again for Spring... but with a little edginess.

I absolutely love this edgy look this season - with that bright pop of colour from the blue shirt. It's just such a fashionable look, especially with all the buckles and studs - it just adds a little extra something to the look. I also think that £50 for a Biker Jacket is super reasonable considering some other stores are often asking for double that amount, despite not offering even half of the sizes available at Yours Clothing.

The following selection can be found at SimplyBe.

Biker Jacket - £60

Ok, so I know that a lot of these items are super expensive (i.e. the sunglasses and the boots) but I just couldn't keep them to myself! I love them. The sunglasses reminded me of the original Ray ban Wayfarers, but are slightly more rectangular and have that funky detail on the side. And those boots... I mean really!!! Distressed leather is something I'm super into and I just adored the strap and buckle detail! Again though, I've found a biker jacket that's a great price and looks fab and adding this to the adorable denim dress is just a match made in heaven!

So I'm done for the day with my Wish List clothing pieces... I think! I hope you liked them and will give these 2 great sites a visit. They really do offer fantastic clothing at really affordable prices and you can really bag yourself a fantastic outfit for a bargain price... that is if you stay away from the designer boots and sunglasses! :-)

Anyway, have a lovely day whatever it is that you might be doing.

Take care lovelies. x

My 1st Friday Faves!

Happy Friday to all you lovely people. The week has come and gone and it's time to relax and enjoy the weekend, except for those of you poor souls who work on a Saturday and Sunday. I salute you.

So I thought I would use this Friday to kick off the 1st of my "Friday Faves" and on that note here goes:

1. Best thing about a Friday (and this will probably always make the top spot... Lol).

My hubby finishes work early on a Friday and without sounding too cringey, he is by far the best part of my weekend and the best thing in my life by far. Any day is more enjoyable when he's there to spend it with me.

2. My Friday Bouquet.

Remember when I posted last week about my Friday bouquet from my lovely hubby? Well this is last weeks carnations still very much alive and kicking - that's another of the reasons I love them so much - long life. But I will be sure to post a pic of this weeks new ones... as long as the hubby remembers. :)

3. The sun is shining and there's not a cloud in the sky!

This photo was taken from my front door and I just can't believe how lovely a day it is! Still absolutely freezing - but at least the sun is shining and hopefully this is a sign of the better weather that's to come.

4. Homemade soup & crusty bread with butter.

You seriously can't beat a pot of soup when it's cold and this bowl of homemade vegetable soup was of no exception. I always feel so much better when I have healthy lunches like this - yes the bread and butter isn't necessarily a healthy option, but be honest - you really do need something to dunk when you're enjoying a bowl of soup!

5. Rosé Wine

On a Friday night my hubby and I usually enjoy a few drinks while watching TV. HOWEVER... We have (stupidly) decided to give up alcohol for Lent.

Let me be clear though. We are in no way problem drinkers - in fact we only ever tend to have a drink a night at the weekend. This year however, we made a deal that we would try and have a healthier approach to life in terms of the food we are eating and the drink we are consuming, therefore when my hubby decided he was packing in the booze for Lent, I thought it was only right that I join him.

Am I regretting my decision now... Yes! :( We are only 3 days in and I'm thinking about throwing in the towel. It's going to be a "Watch this space" kind of scenario I'm afraid.

Anyway, that's the 1st of my Friday Faves for you all. Please feel free to share your own.

Take care my lovelies. x
